Comprehensive Educational Assessments

We provide customized educational assessments that give families a clear understanding of their child’s learning profile. These evaluations pinpoint strengths, challenges, and academic performance, creating a clear path for targeted interventions. Our assessments focus on academic and cognitive skills, offering practical recommendations to support educational growth and success.

Our Assessment Process

  1. Initial Consultation: A thorough clinical interview with one of our educational therapists to discuss concerns regarding your child’s academic performance. This includes gathering information on the child’s history, school performance, and learning challenges.

  2. Comprehensive Educational Assessment:

    • Standardized Academic Assessments: Reading, math, and writing evaluations.

    • Executive Functioning: Evaluation of task management, organization, and behavioral regulation.

    • Language Processing: Assessment of receptive and expressive language skills.

    • Phonological Processing: Ability to recognize and manipulate sounds within words (critical for reading and writing).

    • Fine Motor Skills: Coordination of small muscles, particularly for writing and other tasks.

    • Social-Emotional Functioning: Evaluating emotional regulation, peer interactions, and stress management.

    • Short and Long-term Memory

    • Cognitive Screening:

        •   Selective Attention

        •   Working Memory

        •   Processing Speed

        •   Visual Processing

        •   Auditory Processing

        •   Judgment and Reasoning

  3. Classroom Observation: We conduct classroom observations to understand better how your child interacts within the school environment. This provides valuable insights into behavioral, academic, and social challenges. It also allows us to gather real-time data and tailor our recommendations to ensure comprehensive support.

  4. Written Report: A comprehensive report will outline your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and grade-level performance. It will include tailored intervention recommendations and, if necessary, specialist referrals.

  5. Feedback Session: A follow-up session will be held to review the assessment results with the family. The findings can also be discussed with the school-based team to ensure informed classroom recommendations and support. We clarify your child’s learning profile, answer questions, and provide the next steps, including school accommodations and home support strategies.
